Despite being a numbers enthusiast and financial expert, Lucian remained in financial planning because he enjoys meeting people and supporting clients on their journey to financial freedom.
Growing up with a World War II veteran father instilled in him the importance of resilience and perspective. Now, as a father to two teenagers, he strives to impart a broader understanding of wealth—one that encompasses health, balance, and meaningful experiences. This philosophy underpins his approach to financial planning. More than the technical intricacies, the opportunity to influence his clients’ lives truly energises him positively.
In 2005, Lucian took a break from the hectic London life and moved to Cape Town (South Africa), where he developed and ran an enterprise skills-based charity for a few years. Seeking new opportunities, he relocated to Australia. By 2012, Lucian became the Managing Director and Senior Financial Planner at his own firm, Ginn & Russ, as part of the AMP network. Under his leadership, the practice grew to a large and successful operation with offices in Adelaide and Alice Springs. Always seeking to improve client services, Lucian founded “Emu Wealth,” which eventually evolved into Emu Advisory Pty Ltd.
Lucian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities (Philosophy) and achieved significant financial planning certifications, including the Certified Financial Planner in 2005 and Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning in 2012. He was recognised as the AMP SA/NT Adviser of the Year in 2016 and graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2021.
Lucian values community, serves as the chair of a disability charity, is an active Port Adelaide Tennis Club member, and has been a soccer coach. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching the English Premier League, listening to his eclectic music collection, and sneaking in a sneaky video game session.
A few fun facts about Lucian: He has travelled to over 70 countries, run three marathons and played for his local professional football club, Bristol Rovers, until age 15.
